goodbye music video
goodbye music video
The song “Goodbye” was written by Sophi Joan in 2022 while she was quarantining alone in a hotel room in Amsterdam after contracting COVID. In that moment of isolation and emotional vulnerability and while trying to get over someone, the song arrived almost fully formed. Solitude has a way of accelerating creativity, and “Goodbye” poured out in one sitting, written in roughly an hour and recorded simply as a voice memo. At the time, Sophi never imagined the song would exist beyond her phone. It sat untouched for over two years - until Evan discovered it. When Sophi shared the recording with him, they immediately recognized its potential and knew they had something special.
Evan went on to build the musical foundation of “Goodbye,” layering piano, guitar, drums, and the elements that now define the track. His instincts and musicality shaped the song into what it is today. The project was then passed to Jack Stenzel, whose production brought an added depth and emotional richness to the recording. Jack’s work fully realized the world of “Goodbye,” elevating it into a complete and immersive sonic experience.
With the song finished, Sophi felt strongly that its story deserved a visual counterpart. Determined to release her second music video before the end of the year, production for the “Goodbye” music video officially began in August 2025, with Adrian Doyne-Ditmas stepping in as their fearless director, bringing the process to new extraordinary heights. The crew was assembled largely through online forums, Facebook groups, and grassroots outreach - individuals who, for the most part, had never met before, coming together with a shared passion to create something beautiful and significant.
From storyboards and design decks to location scouting and rewrites, the process moved forward at full speed. Like any ambitious creative endeavor, it came with challenges and unexpected turns, but the team met each obstacle with resilience and collaboration. In many ways, those challenges only strengthened the final vision. The video was shot over three days, November 14–16, 2025, and was even graced with a rare gift: heavy Los Angeles rain on Friday night, which allowed the team to capture the striking dance sequence that now serves as one of the video’s most memorable moments.
Above all, this project stands as a testament to the dedication, generosity, and trust of an extraordinary team. Every individual involved brought their time, talent, and belief to the table, often under tight timelines and challenging conditions. “Goodbye” exists in its final form because of that collective effort. The gratitude for this team cannot be overstated—what began as a voice memo in isolation became a fully realized piece of art through shared vision, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to the story being told.
Meet the team!

Zanlin Myint (Evan)
(He/Him) Music Producer / Music Director / Instrument Lover
Hey! I’m Evan — a music producer, director, and all-around music nerd who loves turning ideas into sounds. I started out jamming with my university band (shoutout to those crazy late-night rehearsals!) and ended up falling in love with performing on stage and making music that actually means something.
I produce and write songs that are a mix of feeling, rhythm, and a little bit of chaos (in the best way). I play a bunch of instruments — if it makes sound, I’ll probably mess around with it until it turns into something cool.
My style? Always evolving. I don’t box myself in. I just follow what feels good, whether it’s chill and emotional or upbeat and weird. I believe music doesn’t have to be perfect — it just has to be real.
Still growing, still experimenting, and always down to collaborate. Let’s make something awesome together.

Chinmayee Kharche
Production Designer
Hi! I’m Chinmayee, but most people call me Chin. My journey into art began in childhood, when I was endlessly curious, always sketching, building, and noticing beauty in the everyday. I didn’t know it then, but I was laying the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of artistic expression. That path led me to study architecture, where I discovered the power of design to shape both form and feeling. Architecture taught me to think structurally and creatively, but everything shifted when I attended a set design workshop in my first year. That was the moment I fell in love with film. Production design felt like the perfect intersection of my passions: storytelling, visual language, and immersive environments. Early in my career, I had the privilege of learning under a renowned Production Designer, an experience that shaped how I approach cinematic storytelling. Later, at Chapman University, I deepened my craft and voice as a designer. Learning from seasoned professionals and collaborating with fellow students gave me a range of perspectives that pushed me to grow in unexpected ways. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to creating cinematic worlds that feel alive, layered, and emotionally resonant. My work is rooted in story, culture, and human connection, driven by the belief that great design doesn’t just support a narrative, it shapes how it’s felt. Today, I am proud to call myself a Production Designer, representing India and currently based in Los Angeles.
